More and more rooms are being designed with the fireplace as the focal point so manufacturers are creating fires that fulfil that requirement.

The Dru Lugo 70/2 is just such a fire. A corner gas fire, the 70/2 immediately draws the eye – especially when lit. With so much glass, the bright flames are clearly seen and warm the room by their colour as much as by the heat produced. The design is largely frameless to emphasise the flame display.

Available for natural gas or propane (LPG), this fire comes with a remote control and electronic ignition for improved convenience.

Used a completely enclosed combustion system, the 70/2 produces 7.0kW (8.0kW for LPG) of heat and achieves a 80% efficiency.

The fuel bed is log effect and installation is easy. Maintenance is simple too: the window is accessed by loosening a simple screw.

The interior can be specified as either black smooth or black Ceraglass and a wide variety of surrounds that can be seen on the Dru website.

But the most revolutionary aspect of the Dru Lugo 70/2 is the alternative control system. You can use the remote control provided or there is a new Eco Wave technology that allows you to control the height and pattern of the flames using an app on your Android or IOS tablet.

Using such technology can save up to 50% of your gas consumption.
