ESSE 225XK Contemporary Stove
- Up to 8.5kW maximum heat
- Outside air vent available
- DEFRA approved version available
- Afterburn combustion system
The ESSE 200XK is a dramatic and efficient stove but some customers may be looking for something with a more modern design.
Step forward the ESSE 225XK Contemporary.
Designed in the same pleasing style as the smaller ESSE 125 and 125SE, this stove produces up to a thumping 8.5kW when burning wood (7.1kW with anthracite) with a peak efficiency of 81.1%.
The box-like shape is nicely set off with tubular legs (in either black or brushed steel) at each corner. As with all ESSE stoves, the handle comes in an attractive but very useable steel design to match the simple controls found on the side.
The area of glass is as big as it could be, as is the door and access to the ashpan and fuelbed.
This stove comes in a multi-fuel model (with a useful switchable grate for burning sold fuel or wood) or the SE woodburning model. SE stands for ‘Smoke Exempt’ and is designed to operate so effectively that any emissions are minimised: indeed, so completely is this achieved that the 225XK Contemporary SE is passed as acceptable for use in smoke control areas by DEFRA.
Combustion is helped by ESSE’s own Afterburn system that burns the fuel twice to ensure none is wasted and also blows hot air across the inside of the glass to clean it.
You will wonder why you even considered another fire.
