There was a time when stoves were great ungainly things that really were not appropriate to many smaller rooms. Fortunately, things have changed. Appropriately at the forefront of the innovation is one of the oldest manufacturers of stoves – ESSE. In business since 1854, this Lancashire firm have supplied stoves to many interesting people over the years (including Antarctic expeditions!) and now they offer their 100 model stove to you.
This fire still has the wide expanse of glass associated with ESSE stoves, uses an airwash system to keep the glass clear and ESSE’s own Afterburn system to ensure the cleanest combustion of fuel. But the 100 is a slim stove, allowing for installation into smaller hearths or where a larger stove would just be too much for the room. Nonetheless, this stove still manages to produce up to an impressive 5kW of heat.
You can choose between the 100C and the 100SE models. The SE is purely wood burning version but has been approved by DEFRA for use in smoke control areas. Both models come with adjustable feet, just in case you want to install it on an uneven hearth, and can be installed with either a top or rear flue.
Also available (as an option) on this fire is double doors. Either version comes with a convenient handle and simple controls but you can choose between a single or double door layout.
A neat little stove that suits many homes.
Please ensure all wood burning or multi fuel stoves are installed and maintained by a HETAS recognised engineer.
