In a modern, contemporary home, an old-fashioned hearth fire often looks out of place. Manufacturers offer gas fires for sale that encompass a wide range of styles so installing a traditional fire is no longer essential.
The DRU Lugo 80/3, for example, is a dramatic three-sided gas fire that can be made to blend seamlessly into a room. The surround is frameless, enabling this fire to be placed within an almost limitless number of colour schemes, using a false chimney breast or as a floating hearth.
With such a wide area of glass, the large area of logs and flame is clearly seen from more than 270 degrees. But this glass is also functional: a simple release mechanism means the window can be removed without much effort for easy maintenance.
As there is no frame to this fire and the fuelbed so dramatic (and realistic) the interior has to be just right to show it at it’s best. For this reason, the 80/3 can be chosen with one of three finishes: matt black, mirrored Ceraglass or black ribbed cast iron.
Control of this fire is via a clever remote control but a second option is more enticing to many buyers. The DRU Lugo 80/3 can be controlled by the latest Eco Wave technology: using an iPad or Android device, the flames can be controlled using up to 15 settings and performance can be monitored, allowing fuel savings of up to 50%. A diagram on the screen varies the flames according to your selection and maintenance needs are also communicated to the user, or even to a selected approved DRU dealer.
A smaller version of this fire, the 70/3, is also available as is a two sided model, the 80/2.
Whatever you choose, the gadget-mad members of your family will love this fire!

For your own safety and effective operation of the fire, remember to have it installed by a qualified Gas Safe engineer.
